The 2nd Annual “Shelby County Business Outlook Conference”, co-hosted by the three chambers in Shelby County (Greater Shelby County, Montevallo and South Shelby) was held on Wednesday, January 25.
The program, held in collaboration with the University of Montevallo’s Stephens School of Business, was held at Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena located at 500 Amphitheater Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
The Conference opened at 8:45AM with a panel presentation beginning at 9:15AM. The panel will featured five business leaders –
– Banking: Bill Keller, Renasant Bank
– Manufacturing: Jeff Purvis, A.C. Legg, Inc.
– Healthcare: Bob Phillips, Shelby Baptist Medical Center
– Real Estate: Beau Bevis, ARC Realty
– Small Business: Michel Coleman, Coleman Construction
— sharing their outlook on what 2017 will look like in their respective sectors. The panel presentation was moderated by Dr. Stephen Craft, Dean of the Stephens School of Business.
Following the panel presentation, the Greater Shelby County Chamber’s 36th Annual Meeting began with lunch, followed by Dr. Craft’s presentation of the results of the 2017 Business Outlook Survey which the three chambers and the Stephens School of Business conducted. That survey featured feedback from business owners and top managers on what they think Shelby County’s economy will look like in 2017.
